THE Democratic Alliance has opened assault and incitement of violence against eThekwini Mayor Zandile Gumede and Thanduxolo Sabelo, the KwaZulu-Natal secretary of the ANC Youth League following the attack of a DA supporter during #AntiZumaMarches in Durban on Friday.
Sixty-year-old DA supporter Robert Lemon was manhandled by youth league protesters in North Beach, Durban. The youth league had marched to the beach in "defence of President Jacob Zuma", changing the route of their march.
The DA said Gumede and Sabelo uttered words that fueled the violence witnessed at the march.
The victim Lemon was accompanied by DA KZN leader Zwakele Mncwango and DA KZN chairperson Haniff Hoosen when they opened a case at Durban Central Police station on Saturday.
