PROTEST IN DORINGKOP

PROTEST action broke out in Doringkop this morning with protesters demanding that the area’s councillor, Dumisane Ndimande, be removed from his position.

KZN SAPS spokesperson, Captain Nqobile Gwala said: “In the early hours of the morning, a group of about 100 community members embarked in a protest action, blockading the road complaining about the councillor and service delivery. No case has been opened at this stage and no arrests have been made. The situation is under control, the police are at the scene to stabilise the situation.”

One of the protesters said the protesters are demanding that Ndimande is removed because of a number of reasons which include issues pertaining to RDP houses in the area.

An update will be provided once more information has been sourced.
