SCOTTBURGH SAPS might just have received the breakthrough they were waiting for when a fleeing suspect had an encounter with police dog Calile following a burglary in Freeland Park last Saturday.
Despite being hospitalised since Saturday, the man appeared in the Scottburgh Magistrate’s Court on Monday this week, charged with housebreaking and theft.
According to Scottburgh SAPS communications officer, Captain Vincent Pandarum, the intruders had tripped an alarm during a burglary at a property in Pioneer Place, Freeland Park.
