A SENIOR couple had a hefty weight taken off their shoulders and they can finally breathe a little easier knowing that their R300 000 shock Metro bill has been amended.
“We would like to thank the Highway Mail for publishing the article on 13 January regarding our ‘overdue’ electricity account of R356 648.86.
“This resulted in Andrew Leaker and his staff at Morris Fuller Anderson Attorneys stepping forward and offering their services pro bono to try and resolve the issue of our exorbitant account. We are now happy to report that we have received an adjusted account showing a reversal of the ‘overdue amount’.”
It is wonderful to know that there are still good Samaritans, as without their input, I am sure we would still be trying to access a contact at the eThekwini Municipality – they really went the extra mile.
